If the SLP Directions box is checked, LINGO's nonlinear solver will use successive linear programming (SLP) to compute new search directions. This technique uses a linear approximation in search computations in order to speed iteration times. In general, however, the number of total iterations will tend to rise when SLP Directions are used.

LINGO defaults to using SLP Directions.
