New Features for LINGO 18.0

LINDO Systems is proud to introduce LINGO 18.0.  The new features added to LINGO include the following:

New enhancements made to the simplex solvers resulting in average performance gains on large instances of 15% for the primal simplex and 10% for the dual simplex.
Improved performance on LP’s when using multiple cores with concurrent execution of Primal, Dual, and Barrier.
Much faster handling of large quadratic matrices, e.g. 1000 x 1000.
Improved performance on quadratic portfolio models with min-buy quantities and constraints on the maximum number of assets in a portfolio.
Improved handling of discontinuous functions, e.g., @MOD( x, k),  @INT( x), @ROUND(x).
Multistart NLP solver now supports a target value:  As soon as any multistart thread achieves a specified target all threads stop.
New charting functions: Gantt charts, stacked vertical bar, stacked horizontal bar.
Ability to interrupt the solver in a CALC section, but continue execution of the CALC section.
New arithmetic functions: @SIGNPOWER, @LMTD and @RLMTD for nonlinear network and heat exchanger models.
Windows versions of LINGO now support a direct link to the R package, allowing access to R's extensive capabilities in such areas as statistics, regression, time-series, graphics, and more, from within the CALC section of your LINGO model.
New solver log option: Enable the solver log and set its output level. Output may go to a file or to the screen.

We hope you enjoy this new release of LINGO.  Many of the new features in this release are due to suggestions from our users.  In particular, we'd like to thank both Robert Coughlan and Wu Jian (Jack) for their many useful suggestions for improving LINGO.  If there are any features you'd like to see in the next release of LINGO, please let us know.  Feel free to reach us at:
